Improved hardware making Windows VPS more popular

According to a recent Bodhost report, Windows VPS systems have become more popular in recent years because improved hardware has allowed virtual server hosting companies to split dedicated servers into multiple partitions without sacrificing power.

The report said Windows virtual private servers are capable of offering users dedicated resources, improved protection and total access to systems.

Dedicated resources are achieved in the VPS server model, the report said, because each virtual machine is given an allotment of server resources attached to its partition. This allows the tenant to retain constant technical performance, making it easier to manage the device's capabilities.

Improved protection is also possible in VPS servers because the devices are more clearly separated and distinct from other virtual machines on the physical server, the report said.

This clear separation creates an environment for total access as well, as VPS servers can be customized, managed and, in some cases, rebooted separately from the other virtual machines on the server, according to the report.

A recent Solid Blogger report said virtual private servers are ideal for small- and medium-sized businesses and websites because they can provide comparable performance to dedicated servers, but at a lower cost.
