CA Technologies, a leader in virtualized server automation, recently announced the release of a suite of new products that will assist in making the virtual environment run more smoothly and with less direct consumer interaction. The intent of the this new product line is to both enhance overall functionality and limit time spent by company and VPS provider IT departments streamlining VPS options.
Among the new programs debuted are the Process Automation r3, Configuration Automation r12, and Server Automation r12, each designed to fill a different role in ensuring that a virtualized server is performing as well as possible.
The Configuration Automation r12 is designed to standardize services, reduce downtime, as well as providing system mapping and discovery for clients, and can do so across both physical and virtual servers. In addition, the Configuration Automation r12 comes with over 1,000 features out of the box and can be used in agent or agent-free situations as necessary.
The Process Automation r3 is intended to increase process automation of VPS systems by documenting and orchestrating a variety of applications across platforms. The r3 features a visual interface to allow for efficient handling of tasks and reliable tracking on just what processes are being automated.
Last, but certainly not least, is the Server Automation r12, which is designed to provision and deploy applications across physical and virtual systems. The 2011 version includes a broader support for Hypervisors including Microsoft’s Hyper-V and Cisco UCS.
With a broad range of products and support, CA Technologies is providing ways for companies and VPS providers to get the most of their virtualized and physical servers, in addition to preparing the business world for the steady changeover to virtualized and cloud architecture.
