Cloud computing establishments, whether through virtual server hosting providers, cloud vendors or internal developments, can be complex and difficult to maintain because integration between diverse systems can provide a significant challenge. According to a recent CIO.com report, companies must find hosting providers capable of meeting these challenges, as 2011 could be the year of widespread cloud adoption.
According to the report, heterogeneous systems support is critical to success with hosted cloud services. Early hosting options often centered around open source products, such as CentOS, to integrate the data center's physical, virtual and cloud-based systems.
Now that cloud technology and hosting plans have progressed, systems from major providers, such as VMware and Microsoft, are becoming critical tools to integrate cloud hosting systems. The ability to support the entire data center is essential in hosting and cloud options, making a complex system support solution a necessity, the report said.
A recent Express Computer report said data centers are becoming increasingly complex, forcing providers to expertly manage server resources and create interoperability between the data center's infrastructure and the systems used by clients.
