Regardless of which virtual server hosting solution a web developer is using, a content management system is essential to the success of almost any website, according to a recent Web Hosting Geeks report.
The report said companies are increasingly turning to CMS solutions because they are beneficial for both blog-based and ecommerce websites. Historically, many have considered content management systems to be almost exclusively designed for blogs and other online publications. However, the report said CMS solutions have evolved with tools that facilitate ecommerce functions.
Content management systems are capable of stripping away many of the complex programming tasks associated with web development. This is achieved by separating the core programming of the site from the publishing elements, allowing content creators to publish material without knowing how to work with HTML, the report said.
According to the report, CMS is also a secure way to manage a website, as many solutions come with built-in solutions for log-in tracking, SSL verification and content approval systems. This makes CMS ideal for ecommerce websites because they depend heavily on quality security protocols, the report said.
An earlier Web Hosting Geeks report said content management systems can be helpful to developers because they provide ample opportunities for customization.
