Report: Content management systems give designers freedom

December 10, 2010

in Development Applications

According to a recent Web Hosting Geeks report, CMS systems are quickly becoming one of the most popular tools for web designers because they are capable of containing a vast repository of content in a virtual server hosting environment, while also providing the developer flexible options for customization.

CMS systems are diverse enough, the report said, that a developer can essentially choose a CMS system based on needs. This allows developers to settle for a small, limited CMS for a simple website, or deploy a customizable CMS with ample space for file sharing in a more complex project.

Another advantage of a CMS solution, according to the report, is allowing developers to focus on programming and code, while providing a dashboard that allows content providers to add text, images, audio and video without having to deal with the development side of the process.

A recent report on the recent Gilbane Conference from Fierce Content Management explains the market for virtual server hosting and CMS programs is still considered new by many organizations, as some companies still need to establish an online presence or update static webpages from older models developed in the 1990's. This is creating a completely fresh market for web hosting solutions.
