The Host Review recently released a report analyzing the differences between shared and dedicated servers in an effort to determine if dedicated servers were worth the cost. According to the report, dedicated servers offer a number of important advantages that make them valuable despite their expense.

According to the report, many businesses will begin using virtual server hosting services by signing up for a shared server. Over time, the company will begin to outgrow the space allotment on the shared device and need to decide between upgrading to another plan or renting more space on the shared server.

The report said moving to a dedicated server is advantageous because it provides developers with more technical resources for customization, enhanced security and improved stability. These features are possible because businesses operating on dedicated servers are the sole tenants of the device.

According to a Web Hosting Geeks report, a cloud-based virtual private server is a good option for businesses that cannot afford a dedicated server but require more space and customization than a shared device. VPS servers have fewer tenants than shared servers, providing users with more disk space, options for customization and lower costs compared to dedicated hosting plans.
