Virtuozzo central to virtualization services

An Atlanta, Georgia-based company has announced a new telephony service designed to leverage virtual server technology to create VoIP environments within a business.

This development is possible primarily because of virtualization software called Parallels Virtuozzo. With Virtuozzo, companies can establish multiple virtual environments on a single physical server, VoIP Planet reports.

The use of a virtual server provides businesses with a unique opportunity to scale technology based on their actual need, relieving a number of traditional server deployment headaches.

Traditionally, companies would have to purchase physical servers based on projected capacity, and deal with either financial losses if they overestimated their needs, or technical problems if they underestimated web traffic. By using virtual server hosting services, companies can purchase space on a shared server managed and maintained by a third-party vendor.

Virtuozzo is a popular, up and coming virtual server management platform, that distinguishes itself by its ability to intelligently partition multiple server environments within one device. Through these divisions, malfunctions on one portion of the shared server can be limited to that partition, rather than being able to create technical problems throughout the entire data center.
