Shared plans within the web hosting industry have long held the dominant place as the affordable hosting solution for companies seeking a small-scale plan to host a basic blog, small ecommerce site or information page.
According to a recent report from the VPS Host Review Blog, many web hosting users are turning away from shared hosting plans and investing in the VPS hosting because it offers advanced management and customization tools.
Since shared servers are a number of virtual machines working under the same operating system and parameters on a physical device, individual servers cannot be managed or customized separately from the rest of the device.
In VPS server plans, the report said virtual machines are distinctly separate from each other in the physical device. As a result, each server can be changed, managed and customized per the users wish, with almost no restrictions, the report said.
According to a recent Web Hosting Geeks report, VPS servers are incredibly similar to dedicated ones. They both have their own RAM and storage space, and the primary difference is that VPS devices share CPU resources and dedicated servers do not.
