Domain Transfers
Transferring your domain can mean one of two things. It can mean that you are looking to update your name servers (Name Server Transfer) or you could be looking to leave your current registrar and move the domain over to us to manage for you (Registrar Transfer).
Name Server Transfer
If you are looking to change the name servers on your domain name so that it will redirect to your virtual server you would need to use the following information.
Primary Name Server: NS11.MYHOSTING.COM
Primary IP Address: 168.144.1.228
Secondary Name Server: NS12.MYHOSTING.COM
Secondary IP Address: 168.144.68.3
Please note that if you add these name servers to your domain you will need to contact support at support@myhosting.com to request that we add a DNS for your domain onto the above name servers. Make sure that when you make your request that you include your domain name and the IP address that you want your "A" record to point to. The IP should be one of the addresses that come with your virtual server.
Registrar Transfer
If you are looking to transfer your domain away from your current registrar and have us manage the domain you would need to follow the steps outlined below.
- Wait until your virtual server account is created and once you receive your account information you can start the transfer process.
- Before you start the transfer you will need to make sure that you have confirmed the following:
- Your domain name is unlocked at the current registrar. If the domain is locked a transfer attempt will fail.
- You have the AUTH Code or EPP Code for your domain to approve the transfer. Your current registrar can only provide this to you.
- Confirm that the current email address listed on your domain registration is valid. You can confirm this with your current registrar.
- To start the transfer you need to log into your control panel.
- After you've logged into the control panel you will see the DOMAIN MANAGEMENT section on the top of the site. Within this section is a "Transfer Existing" icon. Click on that ICON to begin transferring your domain.
- The next step is to enter your domain name and the transfer key (AUTH Code or EPP Code) for your domain. You cannot proceed if you do not have this information. If you do not have the code you will need to contact your current registrar.
- Once you've entered the domain name and the transfer key press the NEXT button to complete the order.
