Outlook 2007 Configuration for Exchange
Your personal settings as well as configuration instructions can be found from within your OWA (Outlook Web Access). Log in at http://ex7.myhosting.com and click My Email Settings -> Email Settings.
Below are generic configuration instructions for Outlook 2007.
Please note that these instructions are for Outlook 2007 under Windows XP and instructions may vary for different email clients or operating systems. If you have not installed Windows XP SP2, please make sure you install this patch before proceeding with the instructions below.
- If Outlook 2007 is open, close it. From the File menu select Exit.
- Go to the Windows control panel. Select User Accounts and then Mail. Or if you are using the "Classic View" control panel, click on Mail.
- From the Mail window, click Add... to set up a new profile.

- When prompted, choose a name for your new Profile and then click OK.

Select Add a new e-mail account and click Next.
Select Manually configure server settings or additional server types and click Next.
- Select Microsoft Exchange Server as the type of email account and click Next.

- In the Exchange Server Settings window, enter the following details:
- Click on the More Settings... button. At this point a connection will be attempted to the server. It will take approximately 60 seconds and will time out with the following error. Click OK.

- You'll then see a window similar to the following. Click on the Cancel button.

- On the next window you'll see 5 tabs: General, Advanced, Security, Connection and Remote Mail. Leave the Connection tab for last. Duplicate the settings which appear below.




- Next, select the Connection tab. Check mark the Connect to my Exchange mailbox using HTTP option. If you do not see the Exchange over the Internet option, you'll need to install this patch. After installing the patch, if you still do not see the option, please try this solution.

- Click on the Exchange Proxy Settings... button. Enter the following details:
- Use this URL to connect to my proxy server for Exchange: https://ex7.myhosting.com
- Clear (uncheck) the option Mutually authenticate the session when connecting with SSL
- Select the option On fast networks, connect using HTTP first, then connect using TCP/IP
- Select the option On slow networks, connect using HTTP first, then connect using TCP/IP
- Proxy Authentication Setting: Basic Authentication

- Now click OK on the Exchange Proxy Settings window, then OK on the Microsoft Exchange Server window. Then click Next on the Email Accounts window, and then click the Finish button.

- You'll now see your account listed in the Mail profiles list. Click OK to close the Window and save your settings.

- Now you can open Outlook 2007. You will be prompted to enter your User name and password when Outlook 2007 starts.
"Exchange over the Internet" option is missing
