Server Backups
myhosting.com performs regular backups of all Virtual servers for our own disaster recovery purposes.
Backups for Windows Virtuozzo Virtual Server
If you manage your Virtual Server through the control panel at https://manage.myhosting.com
you have a server that is configured in our Virtuozzo environment. We
keep a backup for disaster recovery purposes for our servers but for
your own backup purposes you would need to order a backup plan for your
server. The steps for ordering a backup service is listed below.
Backups for Classic Linux Virtual Servers
If you manage your Virtual Server account through the control panel at https://admin.myhosting.com
you have a Classic Linux Server. We run full backups for all these
servers once a week and differential backups every day. We keep the last
two full backups on file. Should you require a server restoration we
can do this for you for $50.00. All server restorations are done between
business hours Monday through Friday (9:00AM - 5:00PM).
The software used for the Linux backups is Bacula

Ordering Backup Service for Virtuozzo Virtual Servers
To add a backup service to your Virtuozzo virtual server you would need to follow the steps outlined below.
- Next click on the Subscriptions link under the Subscription section.
- Click on the ID link for the server you want to setup backups for.
- Then click on the "Resources" tab.
- Here you will see that there are several scheduled backup
plans. The dates for the backup plans indicate that they are for
Saturday or Sunday but that can be edited to any day of the week. The
scheduled backups are available at four times during the day six hours
apart. The timing for these can't be switched so you would want to pick
the plan with the time thats best for you. There are also manual backup
options and this will allow you to go into your control panel and run a
backup right away whenever you need to. If you want to have the system
routinely do the backups you'd need a scheduled plan and not the manual
one.
Once your backup plan is enabled you would then have a new option under
your subscription for managing your backups. To manage the backups log
into the control panel and select a subscription that has backups
enabled. You would then click on the VPS Management link and this would then display for you the link for managing your backups.
