Although Outlook and Entourage support Hosted Exchange accounts natively, and many mobile devices support ActiveSync or even RoadSync, there are still many exceptions. With full POP3, IMAP4 and SMTP access, you can view, send, and receive email from your Exchange account using virtually any computer or device that does not have native Exchange or ActiveSync support.
All myhosting.com Email accounts include inbound and outbound email access through the following protocols.
These are the standard email protocols through which you can download email to any email application. POP3 access allows you to download the contents of your inbox, and the IMAP4 protocol allows you to view your entire inbox and all your sub-folders.
Using POP3 or IMAP4, you can download your Professional Exchange to any standard email client, including such favorites as Thunderbird, Evolution, Eudora, Mac Mail or Outlook Express.
And In addition to providing POP3, IMAP4 and SMTP access over the standard ports, we also provide:
These options provide additional security for those users that require that extra level of encryption.
It is becoming more common for service providers to block access to third party SMTP services over the standard ports. This is why we also provide SMTP access over an alternate port. Alternative SMTP port is available if default SMTP port is blocked by your ISP.
In addition to our fully functional Mobile Email and Mobile Email + Outlook accounts, we also offer Basic Email Accounts which you can use for those mailboxes that do not require full Exchange functionality. These accounts have full OWA (Outlook Web Access) web email as well as POP3, IMAP and SMTP support, including Secure POP3, Secure IMAP and Secure SMTP.
Although these Basic Email accounts do not have full Exchange access or ActiveSync, you can use virtually any email client to send and receive email aswell as harness the power of Outlook Web Access. Also, if your mobile phone or device includes a built in email client, you can use these standard protocols to send and receive email.
